LEAKING SPA

Back

LOCATION OF LEAK

REMEDY

“I can see water coming out from underneath the spa”

There could be several reasons for this.

You have a leak under the spa. In the pipes, in the shell etc.

You have a leak in the equipment area that appears under the spa

You have overfilled the spa

“Water is coming out from the top of the pump”

Tighten the fittings on the top of the pump. Use a grip tool of some kind.

Note:  Do not apply to much pressure or you might crack the fitting or the pump itself.

“Water is coming from the middle of the pump and the motor sounds loud”

Most likely you have a bad pump seal. In order to replace the seal the pump/ motor will have to be taken part and the seal and gaskets be replaced

Note:  Quite often when this kind of leak happens and the motor is loud, you end up replacing the entire motor/pump.

“Water is coming from a hose sticking out”

It’s most likely the drain hose and tightening the cover on that will stop the leak

“I see water”

There are many leaks that can happen in a spa.

Trouble shooting a leaking spa is a time consuming process

Please contact the service department.

SPA COVER QUESTIONS

Spa Cover Questions

Answers

My spa cover is cracked?

Most of the time when a spa cover is cracked it’s because someone has put a lot of weight on it.

This could be a large dog or a person.

Except for the heavy duty covers, most covers are not made to carry a human. The foam inside is not strong enough to hold that weight.

The vinyl is faded and starting to crack?

The Ultra Violet rays from the sun is hard on spa covers.  Always treat your cover with a UV protector a couple of times/ month. This alone will add years to your cover.

What kind of spa covers are there?

There are many different covers

The most basic cover is made of 1lb foam. It does the job of covering the spa and retaining most of the heat. However, a heavy rainstorm that accumulates water on the cover is enough to crack the foam.

We typically do not recommend that kind of cover.

What about the large variations in the prices?

The cost of the covers depends on the density of the foam inside. The higher the density is the more heat the cover will retain and the more weight it will be able to carry.
